Aquarium Resurrection: Part 1

It's been a few years, but I've decided to resurrect my aquarium. I'm going to go with freshwater, but haven't decided the fish. I'm thinking Amazon. Possibly even discus, but I'll have to setup a separate aquarium to soften the water for water changes.

I ordered a new hood and some Chemi-Pure yesterday from Drs. Smith & Foster, and today I started filling it. I started with some snow from outside, but I'm sure that's not going to do much.

Next up: fixing the pre-filter so it doesn't suck in the smaller fish.

The Arches

If you ever visit the American West, you absolutely must visit Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. And I never use 'absolutely'. It was beautiful. It's amazing that such structures came to be. My only complaint was the weather towards the end of the trip was crappy. I didn't think I'd be going anywhere fun this trip so I didn't bring my camera. I bought a single-use camera and took some pictures with my cell phone. Here's one:

This is the parks most famous Arch, the Delicate Arch. I have a picture of me under it that I have to develop. It is NOT easy to get to and it is not for the faint of heart. We trekked almost 2 miles uphill (480 ft). Towards the end it included a walk on a ledge that at it's smallest point was 3 feet wide. If you look down it's close to 100ft down. There are no hand rails or barricades of any kind. I felt a bit uneasy going over that. And when you stand under the arch, if you turn around and look down, it is a few hundred feet down. It's crazyness, but it was worth it. Apparently the National Park Service went through and got rid of alot of the barricades and such to make the parks look more natural. ... more to post...

Billy's Grimm Adventure

KaBoom!!!

Why does Billy need to yell so much? I'd like to see what happens when this guy gets mad...from a distance... with ear plugs. What a cheat of a post, eh?
