Crocuses & Cavaliers

Well I have some color in my yard after this pretty mild winter. I think I'm going to relocate them this weekend. They won't last another season with that dog digging and peeing on them.

I also bought some bee balm and milkweed for the new butterfly (and moth and hummingbird) garden in the backyard. H will enjoy it, I think.

Last night the Boy and I enjoyed a great basketball game on my work. One of the project managers asked me if I wanted to go to the game with a bunch of customers. I told him I'd only go if he had an extra ticket for my son too. I didn't want to leave them alone a whole night seeing as how I was leaving for a long time. I didn't expect him to say yes, but he did, and we had a great time. It turns out 2 other guys from work brought their kids too. It so happens with last nights win we are in the playoffs. Sweet.

The Boy keeps asking why I didn't take pictures of the cheerleaders. He's asked at least 5 times.

Poor, Poor Oates

Oh man, I got up this morning and turned on VH1 Classic to try to wake up a little bit. They were having a Hall & Oates marathon. I don't know if they put Oates in charge of dressing himself or what. But, he was wearing these zebra pants. I know, I know...it's the 80's, but come ON! I wish I found a picture of it, but the best I could find is Oates seductively holding his guitar.

Bored...

I'm sitting here not doing much right now. The big spotlight project down the hall has no more work for me, and I'm kinda in between things on my own project. I decided to start loading Windows XP on the laptop finally. It's going pretty smooth.

Things I've noticed:

I've been in a funk lately. It makes the days go by slow.

"Big" is an awesome movie.

I never realized how sad the movie "Forrest Gump" is. That Jenny is a beotch.

I feel like I missed out on my youth.

On my street there is a salmon head mounted on one of the utility poles.

The landlords of the house next door haven't been there in a while. I wonder if they are done painting and what-not.

Tub Jam

Ahhh...will you look at that? My tub is draining like a champ. Mary's husband Garry came over and helped me replace the pipe. Actually I helped him...kinda. He kinda took over, but he did a great job.

In other news, I heard this past weekend that Pearl Jam was stopping in Cleveland on May 20th. Now, I'm poor. But I'd whore myself out to get tickets to see them again. I went to see them about 3 years ago, and I thought it was an awesome show. They only thing that sucks is that they are playing at "The Q", and if the tickets are in the nose bleed, it's really not worth the ticket price. I'm almost thinking about wasting $20 and becoming part of the fan club so I can buy the tickets in advance. I think I deserve it. We'll see what happens.

Clog!

Today sucked. I think I was sick today, too. Wife quit puking later this morning, so it is only one of those 12 hour deals. I had zero appetite today, which is very unlike me. I came home and almost exactly 24 hours from the last time I ate, I started getting the shakes really bad. So I pigged out. I hope everything stays down. It feels fine for now though.

So in my spare time when I'm not starving myself, I'm attemping to get rid of this here pesky clog. It appears as though the copper is going to have a date with the hacksaw. I'm going to replace just this elbow with PVC. I'd really like to do the whole thing. But I ain't no plumber, and I ain't got no money to pay one. It won't be that hard to do really, except at the point where it hooks to the tub. I'm afraid of f'ing the whole thing up. Ok that's all I got for now. Two posts in one day, eh? Nice.

Barf

I'm sitting at home right now. Wife woke up all pukey, so I'm staying in a little bit longer so she can rest. Normally I wouldn't mind just staying home all day, but I'm slammed at work right now. Nothing much else going on right now. The tub has a some kind of blockage. I was convinced it was a bath toy, but it doesn't make sense. It seems like it's blocked up in a straight piece of the drain. I would have thought it would get stuck in the S-Trap section. The only thing I know is it's not hair.

We are watching Power Rangers right now. God, I hate this show.

Red Ranger: We need more power!

Of course you do, Red. Weirdo.

Wedding #1

We attended wedding 1/4 Friday night. I had a really good time. It was my brother's girlfriend's son's wedding. Soon to be nephew? Anyway, it was a pretty small wedding, probably fewer than 100 people. We danced alot. I drank a little bit. Stupid f'ing Marino Bros. were DJ'ing. I asked them if they had Apache, to which they said they did not. So I asked if I brought it if they would play it the said they would. I drove home got the damn CD, drove back, and gave it to them. About 3 songs later they play this lame ass version of it done be who the hell knows who. Thanks, jackasses. Way to know your songs. We still did the dance, but it's not the same without the original.

Busy = $

I don't think I've personally seen work this busy before. Yea, I've been on specific projects that were under the gun, but not so many at once. The good thing, though, is that I'm not lead technician on any of them, boo ya! A couple of the projects have even been fighting over me because right now before the Great Utah Trip, I have nothing of my own to work on. It feels good to be wanted. Plus, it's funny to watch management try to fix the situation.

Today, I had a pretty awkward exchange after I came back from a very late lunch. I was watching the boy and his classmates put on a circus at his pre-school. He was the strong-man. Frickin hilarious. Anyway, I was walking in, and I saw a guy walking towards me. Now, this guy recently gave his 2-weeks notice. He got a job at a power plant somewhere. It's an upgrade from where he's at now. I've never actually talked to him before, other than a "hello" or what-not. So, as I walk past him, and I say, "Congratulations". We usually say this to anyone leaving our work, although I have to admit it seems like it's getting better to work there. I obviously caught him way off guard. He wasn't even looking at me when I walked past, and I said that when we were pretty close. His reaction was a muted and surprised, "thank you". And as I was walking away I turned and I can see he had stopped, and turned back towards me, maybe to strike up a small conversation or maybe he wanted to say more than his barely understandable response. It was way to late. I never broke stride, and he was 10 to 15 feet behind me by the time I noticed what had happened. Besides, by the time I turned around he was turning back to start walking again. I'm wondering if next time I see him if I should ask more about his new job, or what. Oh, well. I'll probably never see him again in my life.

That's pretty much it at work. I'll be working until about 9 tomorrow night, and maybe a little on the weekend. Oh, Vern got the engineering job! And probably one of my favorite people to work with, Phil, got the supervisor job. Congrats to them both!

Want to see me with long hair?

This has got to be Homecoming during my Junior year. Oh, my hair!!!! Sono così caldo.

One Week

Ok, almost one week since my last post. Sorry about that. Guess what?! In the last two days I paid off a credit card (not mine!) and a car! Woo Hoo! I'm not out of the woods yet, but now I have an extra $190 a month. So that's cool. Easy, wife...that's all going towards the BiG card. Work has been pretty hectic the past. The good thing is, is that it's been all on other people's jobs and not mine. Yesterday, I spent pretty much the whole day on my feet helping out on 3 seperate jobs. I liked it alot. The day went really fast. And to top it off, there was talk of sending me out to Hawaii! Sweet!
