New York

I had a pretty good time here. I've spent a lot of time scoping out the local marine life. Two days ago, in Port Jefferson I saw a stingray and two horseshoe crabs getting it on. I had no idea those species lived this far north. The horseshoe crabs were very large too.

When I was sitting on the rocks right by the water, a family of mallard ducks came by. They were very close to me, within a couple feet. Those were the damn cutest ducklings ever. They must have been not more than a week old. My favorite was when they would dive, and their little butts were the only thing sticking out of the water. It was cute when they would stretch up really tall and flap their little one inch wings. The parents were fun to watch, too. They had to keep a pair of males (juveniles?) away a couple times because they were getting too close.

Yesterday after work I went to Sunken Meadow State Park. It's a pretty large beach they have there. I spent probably 3 hours there. I saw many, many crab moltings there, and even a couple live fiddler crabs, which I thought were more tropical.

After the park, I went and saw a movie and ate a couple hotdogs. $9.95 for a movie here! WtF?! It was better than sitting alone at a bar like I did the night before. I'm leaving soon! See ya'll at home!
